Students will be graded using a Standards Based grading policy. Students will need to show mastery of each objective to receive a 100%. Showing mastery does not necessarily mean they must get all questions correct. On a test, there will likely be multiple grades since there are many objectives being asked. If a student does not show mastery on an assessment, then a "grade" will not be given until that student has had intervention/remediation time, test corrections, and/or has an opportunity to reprove their mastery level.
WSE follows a 10-point grading scale.
Each quarter of the class will follow these percentages: Major Assignments (Tests/Quizzes) = 60% Minor Assignments (Classwork/Homework) = 40%
Final Grades will be determined using the following percentages: Semester 1 (or Quarter 1) = 37.5% Semester 2 (or Quarter 2) = 37.5% Final Exam = 25%
Test Correction Process
Make corrections on a separate sheet of paper following the correct format (shown below).
Turn in the assessment with signature and corrections within 1 week of the original.
Additional points will be rewarded for each correct answer.
Students will need to download the QR Reader App on their technology device (or ask to have the worksheet printed). There is a TIC-TAC-TOE board in Mrs. Hackmann's class that students will scan the QR codes in a 3-in-a-row style. The completed stations (in a 3-in-a-row style) should be placed in the turn in bin to be graded. Once graded, the lowest homework or classwork grade will be replaced with a higher grade.
